Lately, my reading has been all over the place in the best way—from edge-of-your-seat thrillers to cozy, feel-good stories. Here’s a snapshot of my last five books with quick, spoiler-free reviews and star ratings! There’s a few good ones to add to your neverending TBR too!
Cross Her Heart (Bree Taggert #1) by Melinda Leigh
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was a gripping start to the Bree Taggert series and a total page-turner. The combination of personal trauma, small-town secrets, and a fast-paced investigation kept me hooked from the very beginning. I flew through this one and will absolutely be adding the rest of these books to my TBR list!

What She Saw by Mary Burton
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This book SHOCKED me in the best possible way. Dark, intense, and expertly paced - this thriller delivered everything I want in a mystery read. The tension builds steadily, the stakes feel real, and the twists kept me guessing until the end. The best mystery books have me creating a murder board in my head and this one had me questioning everything.

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cozy, charming, and full of heart, this book felt like wrapping myself in a warm blanket. I loved the found-family vibes, the slow-burn romance, and the gentle, whimsical magic woven throughout the story. While the plot wasn’t full of surprises, the lovable characters and comforting atmosphere made this such a delightful read—perfect for when you’re in the mood for something uplifting and cozy.
Swan Song (Nantucket #4) by Elin Hilderbrand
⭐⭐⭐
This was a classic Elin beach read but not my favorite in the Nantucket series. It had all the familiar summer drama and interconnected lives we know and love but ultimately I found myself wanting a bit more at the end of this one. I would still recommend for a good and quick summer read but I personally feel that Hilderbrand has better books in her catalog.
Hooked By You by Kate Sweden
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sweet, cozy, and easy to sink into, this romance had me enjoying every page turning minute. This slow burn created the perfect amount of spice to keep the story on track while keeping me on edge. I also love the travel aspect of this series and being able to get to know a unique location along with the characters. I’ll definitely be adding the rest of the series to my TBR so I can join these sisters on their other adventures!

Overall, this little stack of books was such a fun mix, and I loved having both page-turning thrillers and softer, comforting reads to balance things out. A couple of these really stood out, and a few were just right for the mood I was in at the time—which is honestly all I can ask for. I’m already eyeing what to pick up next, so if you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them. Until then, happy reading and cozy bookish days ahead!
